Jon B's Bio

Jon B is the youngest ZJ at "Hot Z95". Growing up in Corpus, Z95 has always been apart of Jon's life and always the #1 preset when in the car.

At the age of 14, Jon would take any chance that he could get, to go with his father, Danny B, to work on the morning show at "Hot Z95". The more and more that he went, the more and more his passion for radio would grow. By the time his father retired from the entertainment industry, Jon had accumulated over 144 hours of total observation. Jon B says, "When my dad retired, it felt as though my connection to the entire world of radio had just...dropped! I felt as if I had to do something to feed my goal of becoming a radio DJ.".

At the age of 15, with the help of his father, Jon B started an internet radio station called "Jon B Live!". "To be honest, I actually dedicated a lot of my time towards this! I felt that if I complete this, then it would be a ticket back in the door to radio." He continued "Jon B. Live!" untill he turned 16, then created a demonstration CD to send off to Malkan Broadcating, the home of 92.7 KBAY, 1440 KEYS-AM, and Hot Z95.

Two months later, Jon B. had accomplished what very few 16 year olds in the United States get to accomplish. He became a radio DJ. "I can't tell you how excited I was! I as at the gym when I got the call. As soon as I got it, I had to tell someone. Haha, so I told this random guy that was sitting right next to me waiting for the raquetball court to open up. He laughed and congratulated me. It was VERY ackward though haha."

Jon B. has been filling up the airaves of Corpus Christi since May of 2010, and plans on doing it for many years to come. "I've had a lot of good mentors so far, of course my dad is number one. But Doug Williams, and Kelly "Boogie" Brandt are just a couple of really good people with really good talent that I could ALWAYS go to for advice."
